We had decent attendance and a full agenda at the August stated Conclave. Houston Commanderies were well represented at the recent Grand Encampment of Knights Templar Triennial Conclave in Indianapolis, Indiana. Park Place and Melrose Commandery Drill Teams were both winners! Congratulations to the dedicated and hardworking team members who contributed to the successful competition including the the Ruthven Commandery drill team members who are also members of the winning teams:

Sir Knight Keith Borst, Sir Knight Bart Henderson, Sir Knight Travis Griffin, and Sir Knight Hunter Schappaugh.

Sir Knight Gary Cordrey was present at our August Conclave and graciously donated some valuable Templar items to the Commandery including Past Commander’s chapeau and sword belt. He also donated the following books:

  • Mackey’s History of Freemasonry; Robert Ingham Clegg
  • An Encyclopedia of Freemasonry; Albert G Mackey
  • Encyclopedia of Freemasonry and its Kindred Sciences Albert G. Mackey


We are scheduled for the 2018 inspection on October 26th. Let us continue to sharpen our techniques and roles on Full Form Opening and Order of The Temple. Our next practice session will be on September 28th.

Members of the Prince Hall Sanderson Commandery #2 led by Eminent Commander Paul L. Calhoun, Jr. will be visiting us at the September Stated Conclave. Please join us in welcoming our brethren this Friday, 9/14/18.
